project goal
what is KUAITSHIU for?
It's an architecture firm based in Taipei, Taiwan. They focus on large scale public projects, such as urban developments and terminals at Taoyuan Airport etc. These types of projects take years to complete and involve collaboration across many teams. As a result, the administrative workload is extremely heavy. The firm wanted to explore a better way to manage paperwork. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to contribute and deliver my own design solution.

interview with the team

As a supervisor, Tom goes to the building site.

He built a MVP web app to handle the admin work.

The team has been asked to log work progress in this bare-bones web app.

After a long day on site, Tom reviews the work journal, often staying late.
How will you work on a public works project.

The contract specifies the reports we are required to submit and their deadlines, such as Contract Award Date.

In day time, the team is constantly occupied with messages, meetings and unexpected interruptions.

When they finally have time to focus on design, it's already late in the day.
After interviewed the team, I learned that the MVP app is not helping the team but instead adding more paperwork. They already spend most of their time reading complex contract and taking notes, which already function as a detailed work journal.
