Behind the scenes of a Framer template
Framer is a design driven website builder that combines blasting fast web performance with stunning front-end design, it has been around in the web design world for many years, but it wasn’t until last year that I started using it seriously, and I quickly became obsessed with it.
I created a wedding invitation web template in Framer called Orbite. I can easily imagine how convenient it would be for my clients to maintain a Framer site. The CMS is powerful, and you don’t have to handle security on your own. That’s when I decided to create a wedding invitation template with my own take, envisioning a playful, visually engaging experience in a goofy, geek style.
When we think of romance, couldn’t astronomy and sci-fi themes be part of it too? This idea became the starting point for my design. For the homepage, I already had a clear vision in mind. But to better plan the flow and interactions across the other pages, I started with my most familiar tool, wireframes!
The RSVP form is probably the most important feature of a wedding invitation. I wanted to experiment with offering a different kind of visual experience. Can you spot the sci-fi reference behind the interaction design for “Additional Guests”?
Unlike productivity apps, I believe a wedding invitation template should maintain a consistent tone while giving each interface its own unique character.
